Hello Fellow Nurses,
Does anyone know, how long [average...] does it take for NBV to process RN registration? NBV received all my requirements and payment since January 2008 and I haven't received any positive outcome since then. I tried calling several times, they usually put callers on automatic nominal on-hold for about 30 mins. or so. And, once the operator answers, usually tells me it's still under process.
Is applying to other board i.e. Nurses Board of South Australia better?
Seems to me that NBV is full of backlogged applcations? I had my US RN license in less than four months - from Registration to Credential Verification, to Eligibility and Examination until I received my ID license. This is pretty quick despite the thousands of applications are done each day, still managed to accomplish their job quickly and efficiently.
I'd expected Australian Nursing Boards to be better but I guess not....

Do you mean Victoria nursing board Australia? Not everyone knows what the abbreviations mean. They will probably work different to the US so shouldn't really expect them to process the same. I image you are coming towards the end of your wait if they received all documentation in Jan. Have they actually cashed in the fees you have paid? From something I have read can take anything from 4 months upwards
Hi Silverdragon102!
Oh I'm sorry about the abbreviation, yes NBV means Nurses Board of Victoria.
Yes, my credit card was already billed since January 2008.
Wow, four months and up...that's pretty tough. I hope NBV will approve my registration soon.
Thanks
