Probably going to switch in November

The Air Force seems to be taking a long time and I am not getting any younger. I have been in contact with the Army but not a recruiter as of yet..

Since I have spent the last year focused on the Air Force prerequisites I need to get up to date on Army prerequisites...

The lingo is a bit confusing OBLC, BOLC, AMEDD so just where does a NP get sent for training???

Physical expectations? http://www.army.com/enlist/APFT.html correct link?

Hints prior to contacting a recruiter?

These questions probably have been asked before so directions to the links is appreciated... Thanks in advance!

Assuming you're talking about active duty?

All medical professionals go to OBLC for their initial training. The link you had for physical fitness requirements listed the correct information concerning the APFT.

If you've already completed a package for the Air Force, done your physical, etc... then the Army package will be easy to complete. I did the same thing and just cut and pasted from one to the other (had everything saved electronically). The Army can use the physical you completed for the Air Force. You will need to get a new set of letters of recommendation though.

Why not just wait for the USAF. I started the whole process in March and won't be going to COT until Jan. Still haven't sworn in yet though. . .

Oh several things:

Age is one thing I am 45 now. I know I may be able to get a waiver at/after 46.

I have been at it since August 2007... I have no set date for COT as of yet...

Finally: A marginally bad job became worse.....

The decision date of November it will be 16 months..

Yes active.... Good thing I saved every bit of paperwork.

Thanks!

Well I spoke with the Army briefly, but decided on the USAF. I am prior service army enlisted. As far as the paper work is concerned, I would say it is the same. I think that the entry requirements are a little easier. Easier the the USAF I think. But the Army is very physical. I felt the wear and tear on my bones as I was leaving and I was in my mid 20's. So make sure that you are in shape for OBLC.
