Follow the 5Rs every time. If you can't get through it all by doing it properly then look for a place where the staffing is such that you have more choices than to hurry w/ mistakes or don't finish.

Others besides youself already made decisions that have bearing on this (namely staffing levels); they out to have some skin in the game as far as solving the problem. If they refuse to step up that doesn't mean it's 100% on you. It only is if you let it be.
