Pressured to pass the NCLEX

I know that most of us are pressured to pass NCLEX because of job offers etc.

But for me, I feel pressured because I have a sister who also graduated the same year as me.. and she's younger.

I have a mother who constantly compares us even during nursing school until graduation to getting a job.

She already has a job offer and just recently passed her exam.

I, on the other hand really want to work at a public county hospital and waiting to pass my board exam first before applying.

It just sucks because my mother always tells me "look at you sister.. this and that".

I just wish she is supportive instead of constantly comparing me & my sister.

Anyone with the same experience?

I know I should just focus on myself and my ability to pass the exam, but being constantly bombarded with comments especially coming from my mom when I am at home makes me lose my focus on studying.

Concentrate on your review and try to pass NCLEX as soon as possible. Don't listen to anyone that makes you feel miserable at this point. You certainly don't need that kind attention right now.

The problem with this is that you allow it to distract you rather than using it as a challenge to do your best. At some point you will realize that you have nothing to prove to anyone but yourself. Good luck on your test.

Thank you. I appreciate you guys' comments.

I will be taking it next week. I know that I will pass it because I have studied for this and I believe that I can.

You're right callioter, i should use this as a challenge to better myself.

Yep. Your Mom is your Mom and likely won't change. If you lost her today you would miss her habits!

Haha. I know, she is always there for me but she has the habit of comparing me and my siblings. I'm pretty sure my sister had it bad before when we were younger too. :p

Thank you though. :)
