Hi,

I currently live in Mississippi, but me and my fiance are moving to Houston, Texas. I am wondering if my credits will transfer. Can anyone help me?

We would have absolutely no idea. We don't know what school you are currently in, where you will be transferring... Your best bet is to call the schools you are interested in attending and ask them.

Lol! That would help. I go to Jackson state but I'm not sure what school I want to transfer to. I have thought about priarie view A&m, twu, and maybe some others.

This is going to be your best bet. Figure out some of the schools in the new area that you will be moving to and get ahold of them. You will most likely need to send over transcripts from your old school and set up a meeting with an advisor to find what credits will be accepted. Good luck.

I am pretty sure that all state colleges/universities are regionally accredited - so there shouldn't be any problem transferring the credits. However, the bigger issue is how well those courses match up with required pre-requisites at the new school. Hopefully, they will synch so you won't have to re-take them. Houston-area schools are extremely competitive due to the enormous number of applications they receive.

Another issue.... until you have established your TX residency, you will have to pay out of state tuition ... and this is a whole lot more than in-state. It will take a year to establish residency. Just wanted you to be prepared.
