Prepping for ATI TEAS?

Its very smart of you to want to start studying early. The fact that you are nervous is a good thing, it shows how seriously you are taking it. I took the TEAS a couple of weeks ago after completing only my A&P I and A&P II courses.

Sorry, I can't offer any advice on Union test prep. I used the "Mometrix TEAS Secrets" manual and studied for about 2 and a half weeks in total (between spring and summer semester) and managed to score 89.3% overall . I literally read the whole manual out loud into a tape recorder and listened to it while I exercises and commuted an hour back and forth from work. Ultimately I felt that all of the practice tests in the Mometrix manual were harder than the actual test.

During the test I recommend moving through each section calmly but somewhat quickly since time can be a factor. Initially mark each question instinctively and once you have ensured that you have had enough time to answer each question, go back to the beginning and review each question before submitting. Take the full amount of time for each section to review your answers. I probably added 4-6% to my total score just by correcting errors during my review. Also, if your testing center allows it, take a short break between sections to stretch your legs and get some water. Mindset it key for long timed tests like the TEAS. I'm sure you will do great.

I think the decision whether to go back and review your answers is highly individual, and you should figure out what type of person you are ahead of time, if you haven't already.

In that moment, it is knowledge that I either have or I don't. I often go with my gut. Going back and second-guessing myself does me no favors. I scored a 92.

I used the TEAS Mastery app on my phone for months beforehand, and I used it every spare second in the couple of weeks leading up to the exam. If you have a phone with you, you have the app with you, and there are no excuses not to be studying. Waiting at the doctor's office? Go through some questions. Riding in the car? Go through some terminology. Cannot emphasize how helpful this app was for me.

Yes I definitely agree. Different process work best for different people. It may be a good idea to try a few different approaches during some practice tests so she can find what works best for her.

Like 37changes I also used the TEAS Mastery app fora couple days and found it to be a help.

I know you're still prepping, but make sure that when you take the TEAS, your nursing program doesn't count it as expired. For the program I'm applying to, the test result expires in a year. As far as prepping, I used the review book provided by ATI and I did decently. I also actually enjoyed English class and took A&P, so they were review. I had to focus on math but with the addition of the calculator, I wasn't wasting time making sure I was doing the calculations right.

I know some people say that the book doesn't have enough material, but all of the questions on my TEAS exam came from the workbook.

As far as taking the test, take your time. If the testing center offers ear plugs/noise canceling headphones, and you get easily distracted with noises, use the ear plugs/headphones. Take your time. Take breaks to recharge. Don't dwell on past questions. Focus on the question in front of you now.

Also, the workbook has (I believe) two practice tests. Take one test and simulate the testing scenario. If you have to, go to the library and pretend you're taking the test. Keep an eye out on your time. This way you'll know if you have to focus on time-management on a specific portion of the test. And include breaks during this run through. Take a break for a couple of days (or a week) and repeat the simulation with the next test. I believe there's also an answer bank with rationales.

Aside from anatomy & physiology, are there other sciences on the teas? Like chemistry or microbiology? I've just completed A&P but haven't taken chem or micro in a few years so I don't remember much at all

I am scheduled to take the TEAS on June 16th, but the practice tests that I have taken from ATI's website have included chemistry such as balancing chemical equations.
