Preparing for NCLEX

Hi, I'm a nursing student and expecting to graduate this December. Does anyone have suggestions on how to prepare for the NCLEX exam? What study materials did you utilize? How much time did you dedicate to studying? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thank you

Has anyone used ATI for studying?

Hi there!

Just took my boards yesterday and passed. I didn't start studying until a month ago. I recommend the NCLEX Mastery App. Open that bad boy instead of Facebook when you're bored. It'll make a difference. I also used Saunders as a general guide for information, but I mostly used it for the online question banks.

What I recommend most is learning procedures/surgeries, basic/ major diseases, lab values, and infection control/precautions. Very rarely are there a ton of meds (except for maybe digoxin and lithium). If anything the exam is usually priority based.

Hope this helps guide you. Since you have some time, I would make notes on all of the above and once you learn that, I would complete questions.

Thank you for the information! This is great advice and gives me a starting point. Is Saunders an NCLEX review book?

Has anyone used ATI for studying?

I'm currently using the ATI Virtual Review. So far it seems good. I'm also using UWorld (will do all the questions), NCLEX Mastery app (also will do all questions), the LaCharity PDA book, and periodically I look at the Saunders book (Saunders is a comprehensive content review book. It also has questions at the end of each chapter, as well as questions online).

I've heard good things about the Kaplan review course and question bank. I say have a main study source and maybe max 2-3 other resources.
