Frankly, choosing a good school and doing well in class were my best prep. Part of my program was a 2-day live-review course which was part of our tuition. It was about a week after our final exam. Once I had seen the NCLEX-PN for myself, I realized how unnecessary that course was. The exams we had for class, especially our final, were infinitely harder than NCLEX-PN. Pretty sure my school did that on purpose, and why their pass rate stays at 99% and some years it's 100%.

So, does your school have a high pass rate? Did you and your classmates regularly find exams difficult, challenging, and loaded with information from the chapters? Were your clinical experiences good? Full of opportunities and constructive feedback?

The most important prep is in the choosing of the LPN program, IMO. A good one will leave you walking out of NCLEX going, "Really? That was it?" Every classmate I've talked to since we finished has said they felt that way.
