Preparing for ATI

Hello everyone

In just a few weeks my ADN class will be taking the ATI test

We have a book but it is very small and very comprehensive

I'm feeling pretty anxious seeing as we have to have a 90% to pass (and if we pass we don't have to take our final, isn't that great!)

My question is: how did you prepare for the ATI test? did you study at all? how many times did it take you to pass? (we only have one try :uhoh3: ) is it extremely difficult?

Thanks in advance! :)

my school used ATI throughout the year. it is required to pass all ati's with a level 2 and the comprehensive with a 90% or better in order to graduate. we lost a few students because they could not pass their ati's with a level 2.

the comprehensive is a comprehensive. just like the other ati's, even if you study the book and feel prepared, a lot of the questions come from left field. nursing is so broad that it's really hard to "study" and prepare for the ati because you have no idea what kind of questions will be asked.

i would really concentrate on lab values, disease processes, body systems, delegation, prioritization, pharmacology, and patient safety (just to name a few).

there are always 2 wrong answers and 2 right answers. trust your inner nurse and don't stress out over one question if you don't know the answer. move on and continue!

i scored a 91 on my comprehensive and passed my NCLEX on thursday. my license # was posted this morning.

good luck to you! you can do it! :yeah:

I just study the ATI book when studying for the ATI tests. Also, we get codes for practice tests for the section we are taking the tests in. After taking the practice test you can print out the results with areas that you need to go back and review. Know your normal lab values.

Good luck!
