Preparation advice

Hello, I'm new here - first post! :)

I'm starting the SCPHN nurse course in Autumn to become a school nurse. Is there anything I can/should do beforehand to make it easier on myself? - For the course and for when I qualify. Should I do a first aid course, or would that be included?

I've been working in a general hospital for a few years (surgery and elderly care), so it's a real change of direction!

I'd be grateful for any help. Thanks X

You're from the UK, I take it? In the US, school nurse requirements are set from state to state, and can vary widely. A book I find helpful (I used it to help study for the national school nurse certification in the US) is the School Nurse Resource Manual. (latest edition is 2016-2017)

I am. It's a one year course here. Very exciting. Thank you, I'll have a look at that one
