Power Injectable PICC's

Does anyone have information on the use of Power-PICC's over normal PICC's? I would like to make a change from the normal PICC to the Power Injectable PICC on all patients. I need some information to back up my claim that it will be the "best pratice" to make this change. I am looking for studies / documenting results.

Thanks

There are a couple of threads on Bard purple PICCs.

The big issue, is that they are one of the few central accesses that are compatible with the power injectors used with CT scan. They also seem to break less than the smaller PICCs.

I Find That The Power Picc Clot Off Easier. We Use The Bard Purple.

They seem to clot more frequently, and need more attention. We heprinize our power PICC's. I think they are great, but if they don't get maintained your line is gone. Of coorifice I have no data to back that up, just my observation.
