Potential BSN - background

Hello! I’m new here & was looking to get advice about becoming a nurse with a lengthy criminal background. I live in WV. I struggled with substance abuse from 15 on to my early 20’s but have almost 3 years clean & starting for my BSN in a few months. Most of the charges are close to 10 years old, All misdemeanors, the felonies were dismissed but still worried about all of it. Anyone who has any advice or experience on this topic please help! It’s my DREAM but I can’t help but feel like it’s a lost cause that no one will give a second chance….. Thank you!

My best advice is to call your state board and talk to someone there, or even better, contact an attorney who specializes in defending Nurses. Maybe you can find one that gives free consultations.
