post Baccalaureate nursing programs

I don't go to school in MA, but I've lived there for my whole life (other than right now) and applied to several nursing programs there before I enrolled in my current school. A big caveat to consider when looking at 2nd degree BSN programs (especially the accelerated ones) is that they are VERY, VERY intense academically. If you're one of those people who has a "sponge brain" and learns a lot of things well all at once, then go for it. You also will have your nose in books for at least 8-12+ additional hours/day for 16 months (or however long it lasts) and will have no life (well, maybe a little here and there). On the contrary, If you prefer learning concepts at a slower pace (like I do), then you might consider going for a more traditional BSN or ADN program. I'm not aware of any part-time pre-licensure BSN programs in MA, as (I think) most of them are either full-time or full-time accelerated. I may be wrong, however, so you should contact each program individually to see if they have a part-time option. You can download a list of approved programs from the MA BORN website at:

Thank you for the information. I did complete a pretty intense science undergrad degree, but I definitely don't absorb info like a sponge, and at that point I didn't have kids. I'm pretty nervous about starting the program because my kids are really little.. I'm talking under 3.

Do you mind if I ask where you are going to school now and what kind of program you are in?
