Hi fellow NICU nurses! Just want to share with you all what a Fab study day I have had today, second part tomorrow! Wow, I truley cant wait, am all fired up to go back, even did my homework as soon as I came home!!!:chuckle

We were fortunate to have as our speaker, Cherry Bond. This woman is such a fantastic, inspirational developmental care advocate!!! WOW again, tonite , I think we must have all left all fired up and raring to get back to the unit and implement her strategies and teachings!

Cherry travels the world over and is such a well of knowledge, she seems to have incorporated research from each country she visits!

If you can, look her up on the net! For any NICU nurses, she will fire you up !

(oh, btw, add to the great learning from today, we had it in a posh hotel, ATE great food all day...we even had salmon and a glass of wine at lunch!! and we had breakfast, and we had coffee and pastries AND....after lunch, we had coffee and scones and chocolate cake mid afternoon!!!!!!!again..WOW!!! ) I am so stuffed , in my mind and my stomach, cant wait for tomorrow!!!

Just look up this amazing advocate for neonates and family centered care when you have the chance...she is really fab!:yeah:

That must be wonderful to feel that way after any sort of teaching.

And the pampering would certainly help. Any chance you wanna get your Practice Eductator to convince my Practice Educator? haha

Again...fab food, but thats by the by....If you have the chance guys, look into Cherry Bond's work, she is so inspirational! ( Did I say that already???):chuckle:chuckle

MandaAnda..you are in the UK, you could get her for a study day or two, if you have funds to do so! We had money raised by a parent that enabled 15 of us to do this 2 day course. All fired up...BIG changes will come to pass!!!!!!

I'll look into it and mention it to my PE. Does she/her organisation have a website?
