hey guys, i just want some of you guys opinion

is it ok to accept a pool position as a new grad? i just graduated last december as an LPN and i havent gotten any luck because most places dont want to hire new grads. finally, couple weeks ago, find an assisted living that's willing to hire me and trained me but can only offer me a pool position. she mentioned to me that the facilty usually give new grads 90 daus probabtion before they can be full time. do u guys think its worth it?

HI, I graduated in May 2009, I got a job in August and it is on call. I avg about 3 days a month, I am still on probabtion and its been 6 months, b/c I dont work alot. I have another full time office job (non-nursing) im trying to get into a bridge program. I think if its the only thing calling do it.

yea u might be right. my orientation start on thursday so i am going to see what it is all about. i am beyond nervous because i have never worked in to the field before. My experience only has been clinical setting. but another question, being a new lpn grad how much should i expect from them? she didnt mention it when i got hired so i am guessing that its all included in the orientation.

I just took what she offered I didnt think I was in a position to bargin. I didnt know what to say so I said ok she offered 19/hr and that was more than I expected and way more than my classmates were getting at clinics and even hosp. I think it depends on your area,

Im in MN so for clinics here you make probably 15-16 as LPN, LTC 21$/hr, and everywhere else pretty much in between
