With the time to apply nearing and end....
I just remembered my first semester in college when I was 17. Due to immaturity, I was left with 2 B's in my honors classes and 2 F's (in unimportant classes).
This unfortunately leaves me with the following stats.
GPA: 3.31 (BSN 4.0) - if it weren't for the first semester with the F's my cum GPA would be 3.45
GRE: 1290 (610 verbal, 680 quant, 4.5 analytical)
Experience: 1.5 years in teaching hospital STICU - 2 yrs at the time the program will start
Certs: CCRN, TNCC, PALS, BLS, ACLS
Charge Nurse/Preceptor
Lots of unit projects
Shadowed CRNA for 3 days.
I considered just not sending the transcript with the F's - but I'm assuming that universities have a way of finding out previous schools. I never did forward this first school's transcripts to any of the other schools I went to so there aren't any transfer credits - but I don't want to risk it for CRNA school. Does anyone know if universities have a way of checking what your previous institutions were?
Any thoughts? Should I take more classes to bring my GPA up? Can I try to get my record expunged?

Cak---I would vote on the honest approach. The rest of your grades, GRE Scores and certifications look strong. Many schools look at the last 60 hours and your science grades more closely than the overall score. Each school is different in how they look at the package.
There are several threads with stats that people got into CRNA school with. Here is one:

Your stats actually look really good...4.0 BSN ...dont worry about your GPA so much, its not the only thing they look at. I would go the honest route and send all transcprits (Like the request). Make sure on your resume, you put GPA and BSN GPA, so they know you have been working hard since growing up (everyone makes mistakes at a young age). Make sure you have a good statment letter and good LOR. With all that said you should atleast get an interview at every place you apply. The only thing that could hold you back would be the interview.
In the meantime, take some graduate level classes! MAKE SURE YOU GET AN A!Shows you can be successful in grad level course work.

Just be willing to relocate and apply to a few schools and you should get in on the first time around from the looks of your resume...if you can interview well.

I'd be more worried about schools finding out you didn't submit all your transcripts as they had asked. I think some applications have a "we can dismiss you from program if we find out you lied in the application" type of statement. It could reflect badly on you if it looks like you are hiding something. You will be dealing with people's lives in away that is a little different then in the ICU and your instructors need to know you will be totally open and honest about close calls/mistakes that happen while you're learning.
In the interview, be willing to take responsibily for not-so-awesome grades. They know people grow and mature from the time they started college :) It wasn't the instructor's fault, or because your car died or you had a bad hair day on the day of exams, etc. It was because you didn't study enough, or partied too much at first and didn't have your priorities lined out when you started, you know, things you obviously learned how to change because your grades are great in your BSN! bottom line, DON'T HIDE THE GRADES. Someone, somewhere will find out and it's better just to let them know up front.

Thank you to everyone for advice. I submitted my application with all my transcripts. I suppose all I can do now is keep my fingers crossed. If I don't get in, I will take more classes and just apply to more schools next year. Thanks again!
I would definitely recommend applying to multiple programs. Applying to only one program is not wise. If you really want to go, apply to multiple places. I've applied to 3 of the top programs this year and received interviews at all 3. If I dont gain acceptance, Im applying to atleast 7 next year. I'll do whatever it takes to get in.
