Please no judgement….need help

I am a LPN and got my license in 2014. Just recently I was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal damage both including domestic violence because my husband and I got into an argument, I tried to stop him from leaving and I ripped his shirt. I lost my AZ fingerprint clearance card and therefore lost my job. I entered into a plea agreement with a domestic violence diversion program which entails 26 weekly classes before charges are dropped. I'm so scared I'm going to lose my nursing license and won't be able to work as a nurse anymore ? I'm trying to do a good cause exception and I'm so worried it won't get approved and this will prevent me from working again as the charges show up on a criminal background check ? can anyone help me understand what will happen or has anyone been in similar instances and if so what happened??? Please don't judge me as I already am beating myself up for this.

Hello I'm a new nurse I had a misdemeanor when I got my license I had to write a statement and submit information regarding the charge and it was determined I can have my license I say do what you need to do and when it's time for renewal you'll find out or not or you can call the board of nursing and see what they say good luck ??

When we are in the throes of a difficult situation, such as yours, LeeOnna , it is quite normal to feel lost, without hope, dismayed, and wanting to punish ourselves. We have all been in situations and have reacted in ways we regret. The best we can do is to learn from them.

While I cannot give any specific advice to your situation, I experienced similar situations, in that, In 1992, I was charged with client neglect/abuse, and in 2000, I was criminally charged with a $50,000 lawsuit brought against me. However, at no time did I believe my license was in jeopardy.

Everything came out in the wash for me, for the Illinois Nurses Association had the abuse charges sponged from my record, the criminal charges were dropped, and I ended up paying only $3500 in court costs.

The second step of the problem-solving process is to gather data, which you are in the process of doing, posting on a nurses website. Continue that endeavor in seeking advice from other professionals, e.g., reps, lawyers, and perhaps other online resources.

One area requiring attention during times of excess stress is to focus on our mental well-being, for our emotions often cloud logical reasoning. We need to lead a healthy lifestyle as possible and deal with our feelings through some sort of therapy.

I wish you the best.
