Please help....thank you

Hi,

I'm a RN trained and now practising in Hong Kong...wishing to move to Vancouver for further career development.

I have already recieved the letter from CRNBC in May this year. Because of some reasons, I didnt start my job search immediately after i've got that letter, instead, I applied for CRNE Feb 2008 and also sent my application form for temporary registered nurse registration (I thought i should have it registered before I start looking for a job). About a month later, CRNBC told me that I should also submit my Form 4 from the prospective employer in order to complete the registration process...and only after that I realize i shouldnt apply for temp. RN registration untill i've got a job offer.

Though I am ready to search for job now...but I worry that it is not the right time to start working as a trained nurse in Canada as there're only two months left before the CRNE. So, I am thinking if I should wait until I have finished the exam and start looking for an employment later. Do you think it's a good idea?

I would also like to know if CRNBC will send me any confirmation upon the date and time of my CRNE exam? I'm a bit worried as I still get nothing from them.

About job search, should I look for jobs for registered nurse even though I can only work as a temporary (supervised) registered nurse? Or should I only look for those jobs that accept internationally trained nurse? (but I do not see any recruitment specifically for nurse like us :o), it will be great if you have any links especially for internationally trained nurse in Vancouver. Can I also try looking for those for LPN/ RPN? (what is the difference between LPN and RPN?)

I'm so nervous now :trout:~What should I do now? Job first or Exam first?

I will be grateful if you can give me some suggestions~ thank you~

In British Columbia the RPN is a Registered Psych Nurse, an LPN is the equivalent of the UK's old Enrolled Nurse.
