I took the NCLEX for the first time in February and did not pass. I am so afraid to take it again for fear of not passing again. My life is on hold at the moment, and I feel like it will remain that way until I get my nursing career started. I just need help getting passed this fear. The plan is to take a review class, and my prayer is that it will help. Can ANYONE please offer some words of encouragement or advice?

I suggest checking out http://www.hurstreview.com and also get the Saunders Q&A book with CD. Saunders also has a comprehensive review book with CD. I feel like Saunders does a really good job at exposing you to a good variety of content. When your using the CD, do it in the review mode and after you answer each question, read the rationale. Understand why the right answer is right and why the other answers aren't right. After doing many questions, you will get the hang of what steps in your mind you need to take to answer the questions.
I think Hurst does a great job with content. She gets you to think about any disease process without having to memorize each sign and symptom. I took the online reivew and was very happy!!!! She also sends you a CD full of extra information on disaster, ER and delegation.
I just signed up for NCSBN website...http://www.learningext.com Everyone says the questions a similar style as the NCLEX. They have a content review section but I only use it for the questions.
I also use NCLEX3000, which I love and Lippincott review. Lippincott has very challenging questions. Lippincott covers everything in detail. It tests you about diseases that other books/CD's don't.
One of my favorite books is Medical Surgical Recall by Tamara Bickson. This book is like a bible to me. I used it during school and now! If you want to know any disease, look it up and the book tells you the patho, signs and symptoms, how to take care....etc....It's a great book and I'm very glad I have it. It's not bulky either.
Last but not least, this website forum is full of tips for the NCLEX. Scroll through, grab some popcorn, pen and paper to take notes on all the tips!!!
Good luck with your next exam!!! They say do 3000-5000 questions before sitting!

Try and tell your self "i can make it" With prayer and studying you can make it. I took mine in Feb with 265 question Failed. Took Kaplan in April which helped just a little. All my friends said sanders really helped. Took my test july 265 questions passed. I guess I prayed more than I study. Good luck :balloons:
