Hi everyone! Im having a bit trouble choosing the right school for me and Im completely stressed out! I am currently a chha and cma but after going to community college major criminal justice for 1year and I decieded to give something else a try. I been working in the medical field for 2 years now and I was thinking on becoming a LPN. Everything was a go I was very excited! STILL AM! However after reading the reviews from certain schools began to stress me out! THE SCHOOLS I WAS INQURING ABOUT ARE LINCOLN TECH (MOORESTOWN,NJ) AND ALSO JERSEY COLLEGE OF NURSING (EWING,NJ). The reviews are a bit scary and basically Lincoln is a scam it cost 30k and the teachers aren't any help nothing! So that turned me to Jersey college of nursing! But I cant find ANY reviews on this school its like everything is hush hush! Now Jersey College offers a lpn course and if you GRADUATE from their school you will automacticaly be accepted in the lpn to rn program! SOUNDS GREAT! But hours are 7am to 330pm and i live a hour away!(Camden County) Which means i would have leave home 6am (I also have a 7yr and 4yr old) to make it to school on time! And as i read more theres fee besides finanical aid...$500 deposit to hold your seat also $50 exam to see if your accepted or not. BUT the cost of the class is about 25k.. cheaper then Lincoln Tech! Can anyone assist me on any help about these schools! Im 25 single mom and trying to better me and my kids life! I dont want to go to a school and be stressed bc im not getting the proper education. My plan was to become a lpn then take another course to become a rn! Basically im been in college forever and I feel as though Im at the same salary! And not to mention I only have like 9 credits bc all the pre req you dont get credit for! But just dont know what to do!!!!

Even $25k is a lot for LPN...
If you're looking for ultimately going for RN, why not look into RN programs at the community college level. Much cheaper than $25k...
Hello breachyrn2be...thanks for the advice! However at a community college they rather have me take a bunch of pre req classes that I wont get credit for! I'm not trying to take the easy way out but I'm tired of taking classes I'm not gonna need...just to pass time.. Rather just stick to a school only about nursing...!
How will you not get credit for your pre-requisites?
Ive been in college 1 yr and a half and only have 9 college credits I went to my advisor's and they explained that you dont get credits for them classes (prerequisite) im a dual major and basically 125credits I would need to graduate. I think about the length I'll be in school for just an associates degree....is mind blowing. I been working in the medical field some time now and I figured I'll try lpn beings tho its only 12mth program and also they have a rn program in 12 to 15months. But figuring out what school to attend is alil strestressful.
What classes have you taken for those 9 credits? I believe even for LPN to RN you will still need to complete the prerequisites for RN?
As for schools, make sure any school you look at is accredited.
I am looking at Jersey College of Nursing they offer the lpn to rn program in about 12 to 15 months. Only requirement is you must be a lpn which they offer that course as well. But if I decide to go to another school such as Lincoln Tech or wherever else you must have 1yr working experience to be accepted. I've been trying to read reviews of the schools and making sure they are also accredited.
Also I'm not a lpn yet either I only been going to college for criminal justice system and office system tech for intel....so I was thinking maybe a 12 lpn course and 12m month rn course ill be done in 2years sounds sweet opposed to community college thats taking forever.
