Please help!!!!!

Hello, I am 30yrs old and I live on Long Island NY. I just finished getting my associates in liberal arts.I would love, more then anything in the world to become an RN. I don't what what steps to take to make it to my goal. If there is anyone that could help direct me it would be greatly appreciated

Hi wantstobeRN,

I would first recommend you look into the schools near you that offer a RN program. Once you decide or narrow your selection of school, look into their prerequisites (i.e. microbiology, anatomy, chemistry, etc...). Take those to make you eligible for the nursing program. I strongly recommend that you shoot for high grades...A+++ or best you can, because its becoming more and more competitive to enter nursing school. Usually, schools require these prereqs before admitting you into the program. If prereq courses are not open or available (full, that is), then take courses that will benefit you..such as medical terminology...phlebotomy.... etc. while you wait. Good luck... Nursing school is somewhat like bootcamp... it can be exhausting..but once youre done, I have found nursing to be a fulfilling career. Best of luck to you....
