Please help my friend!!

I have a friend who lives in Canada but goes to CRNA school in Detroit. She does not qualify for any US loans and gets very little from Canada. She said the other day she may not be able to complete her program because she is running out of money and does not know where to get more. She is working as much as she can, which you all know isn't much. Does anyone here have any suggestions? Thanks so much!!

Can't she take out some private loans? Borrow from a family member? Sell her car and get a cheaper one? Just about anything would be better than dropping out after starting a program.

I would try the different websites that offer scholarships. Many don't require USA citizenship, and even more don't care what major you apply the money towards. There are several websites that are constantly updating their scholarship listing.

What about professional nursing organizations? Her school might have a student nursing chapter, or look into various national organizations/associations. Only drawback to the organizations is you usually have to be a member to receive any scholarships.

If your friend is not a 'traditional' student, there are all sorts of foundations and organizations willing to help out with scholarship money. Applications are the same as for other scholarships, but membership usually isn't a concern. Just motivation.

hope this helps!

This might be me in a few years. . . .
