So, I finally get accepted to CRNA school with the Army, and then I applied for an interservice transfer to the Army from the Airforce. Everything was looking good, I was approved by all my Command staff on base....five Colonels and two Brigadier Generals....my package went all the way up to the Sec. of the AirForce with the recommendation to transfer to the Army.....I was told everything was looking good and I even went out and bought my Army uniforms...just to be told last week that the Sec. of the AirForce turned down my package. Now the big kicker is I am actually an overage here because of hurricaine Katrina...we won't have hospital operations back on base for several more months, but because I still have an active duty service obligation (which I incured because I was compelled to move here to further my career). Now I am stuck .... I can't get out of the AirForce until May 07 and I lost my school slot.:angryfire

That really bites. Im sorry to hear of your situation. Is there anyway that you can still fight it?
I was supposed to report to OBC no later than yesterday...so even if I did fight it..it would be too late..The only way to apeal the decision would be to write my local congressman.

Have you contacted the people in charge of the Army program to see if they could assist you? There is always a way around everything.
The Army has actually been great! They have called the AirForce separations office several times on my behalf, extended my report date a couple of times, and now are trying to see if I can be preaccepted into the 2007 anesthesia class based on this year's acceptance. I am just out of time and don't think there is anything I can do since the class start date for anesthesia school is so close. It took about two months this last time to get an answer from the Sec of the AirForce. I still might try to talk with my local congressman, but I feel like I am already being treated like a redheaded stepchild by the AirForce.......lol....
