Picc line insertion training

Can someone please help? I need some information on and agency that trains picc nurses. I just completed a picc line insertion class. It has been difficult trying to find a job on a picc team. I am open to training in another state. I have license in Alabama, California and Georgia.

is the lack of training the reason you cannot find a position, or is it because they do not have a need for you right now? We provide training ONLY when we need another nurse certified to do the insertions. When we do, we contact the vendor for our PICC line kits, Arrow Products. That rep might know of upcoming classes. But I just wonder if you are wasting your time and money. Getting the certificiation is only a piece of it. You will still need competencies and cannot get them easily outside your own facility.

I think you are right. I just wanted to try my best to find a job. I really feel like I have wasted my money. Its my fault for not asking the company about job placement. Thanks so much for answering me. Guess I will have to stick with ICU.

The large, local hospitals in these parts only recruit PICC nurses from within... there's never a shortage of folks going after that plum.

The smaller hospitals use per diem folks whose main gigs are at the big hospitals since they don't do enough lines to justify the cost or to keep up competencies.
