Phlebotomy/IV Class

Does anyone know of an IV certification class in the Gainesville area? Will they also teach how to draw blood? Being a new LPN to Florida, and never being permitted to perform this; I want a class first.

I wanted one too but at my facility, it was see it, do it. Scary thought but that was the deal. I sucked at it bigtime. Now, after 3 months of taking blood I'm finally getting good at it. It really is an acquired skill. Would you believe the hospital just recently offered me the class? Go figure. Wish I could help but just wanted to share. I understand your concern.

I'm not familiar with Gainesville, but here in the Daytona area, the local community college offers a seminar course every so often. It's under $100 and is only 4 classes long. Check the local community colleges, allied health dept, and see if they offer something like this. Good luck!
