Hi, I am considering the LVN to BSN program with ISU. I am currently waiting to challenge the LVN exam, hopefully I will hear from the state board before the end of this month. But, I contacted ISU today and was told to contact TCN. So with that being said, A rep is coming to my home this Friday. I have to admit, I do not forsee myself going through with their program (based off the reviews, I read). But we'll see. So I am a bit confused about the preq's, do I have to take all of these preqs before moving on to phase two?:uhoh3::confused: I am hoping the top group is all i need for right now because I will like to meet the deadline for the spring 2012 admissions. Anybody in the same boat as me or in a similar situation? Thanks in advance

do a search on tcn and the allnurses search will tell you that the tcn rep is a salesman who will try to sell you their program. if you are missing classes, they will be more than happy to offer them to you for a huge fee. others have clep out, but i do not know anything about this. you may need to do an allnurses search on clep & isu or possibly someone else could help you here. you can also take class at a community college.

the classes you listed above are the nursing prerequisites as well as the gen ed classes that must be taken before you receive your bachelor's degree from isu. it is best to get all the classes out of the way before you enter the nursing program. it would be a shame to get your nursing pin but because you have not finished your gen ed classes you could not graduate or sit for the nclex until all the courses are completed.

a reminded: do a allnurses general search on isu & tcn --i have written a great deal as well as others. this will give you info on what to expect when the tcn salesman (aka representative) comes to twist your arm to get you to write a huge check to them.

Thank you for that information. I did the search and found a ton of information on those topics. I will still go through with meeting w/TCN rep, so i can get a set degree plan or go by for phase one. But i will not sign a contract:) I am currently readiing through the 100 plus pages about the LPN to BSN program on the forum. LOL I am on page 40 and I have 70+ to go. A lot of reading but very informative:D
