PETRA closed down

To all nurses who have an existing contract with PETRA (Philippine Employment and Tecnical Recruitment Agency) please check this agency, they were closed down by the POEA officials (Philippine Overseas Employment Administration)since January 2007, according to my friend, they were informed by this agency that it will soon open by March 1st but unfortunately, their permit with the proper authorities was suspended, reasons were not discuss to nurses but false hopes were continued to arise. The big problem is, you cannot get your original documents eg. passports, PRC, VSC, CG or NCLEX result because according to POEA once the agency's permit has been suspended no one is allowed to have an access at the office except the POEA officials. If the retrogression is over and you received your appointment interview, you will have a hard time getting your orig documents. Do something now. For everybody's info.

And let this be a lesson to others here as well.

NEVER, NEVER give your original documents to the agency.

They are yours, and you can give them a copy. They do not need anything else. The petitions are submitted with copies of your documents, not the originals.

Do what ever you need to do and get your documents back from whom ever you gave them to. And this is a major reason why.

If the agency was closed by a federal agency, then chances of them reopening are quite slim, if ever at all. There had to be many issues for them to be closed down in the first place.

Plan on them not opening ever again.
