Very important not to give any personal infromation about yourself to your patients.
Personality disorder are diagnosed when personality traits become inflexible and maladaptive and starts to interfere with how a person functions in society or starts to cause the person emotional distress. it is usually not diagnosed until adulthood when personality has completely formed. personality disorders are long standing because personality characteristics are hard to change. people with personality disorders believe their problems are caused by others or the world in general, they don't recognize their own behavior as the source of difficulty. for more info you can look up this book "Psychiatric Mental health Nursing" 3rd ed. author sheila L. Videbeck. their is also samples of process recording in this book. Good luck! Psych rotation is surely DIFFERENT and intriguing!
