Peripheral pressors

I was taught to mix levophed as such: 4mg/250ml D5w and to use 8mg/250ml in central lines.  The rationale was that 8mg was more of a vesicant and if extravasation occurs, it causes even more damage...tell me where I'm wrong/right.

Ideally we try to use less concentrated vasopressors in PIV's (I.e Norepi 4mg/250ml / Phenylephrine 25mg/250ml ). However, what is actually important is a good PIV that has blood return and is being frequently assessed. I have attached a systematic review that discusses the use of vasopressors and PIVs, along with complications. It's a good read!
