Help! I am moving to PA after working here in Floida. I have 2 years experience in a 22 bed (including express care) ER. I"m looking for an ER position in a similar type ER. I am not looking for a level 1 trauma center. Anyone in Western PA have great employers? Anyone recommend their ER? Also, what is the transfer process like to transfer my liscence? Please tell me I dont have to take that dreaded test again!! Thanks in advance!!

rest at ease, you dont ever have to take that dreaded test, as long as you dont let your license lapse! LOL
The endorsement process in PA can sometimes be long. I would recommend that you endorse your license over at least 2 months prior to when you expect to start work. (you will then be licensed in 2 states, Florida and PA, it involves nothing more than paperwork and money) Here is the link to the PA state board of nursing

I live in southcentral PA, so I dont know too much about the hospitals in Western PA. If you are looking for something in the southern part of the state, I can help you! just let me know!

Another Florida uproot! I too moved from FL 8 yrs. ago. I am currently working in Pittsburgh at the VA and love it. Depending on where you live there are many hospitals to choose from. My personal experience is to stay away from UPMC's which is hard because they own 1/2 of all hospitals but they work you to death and staffing issues are horrible. Good luck to you.
