Penn State Second Degree Program at Harrisburg Campus

Hello! I was recently accepted into Penn State's second degree accelerated program at the Harrisburg campus. I found a few threads pertaining to the program at Altoona campus, but I was hoping to hear about people's experiences at the Harrisburg campus, as it is much newer.

Why did you choose Penn State's program?

What was your class size?

About how much did the program cost (with books, etc)?

Did you like the staff and feel supported throughout the program?

What are some things you liked or did not like about the program?

Where did you do your clinicals?

Do you feel prepared and confident about getting a job?

Are you glad you chose Penn State's program?

Any information that anyone has to offer about these questions or anything else you think of would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you! :)

Thank you for getting back to me! I ended up choosing Georgetown because it was a more established program and I got offered a scholarship, but I did hear that Penn State's program is starting to look a lot better since they changed some staff. I hope your experience was good, and congrats on graduation!

Oh that's great! I love the Georgetown area- I grew up near there. You are right about the program improving. Not so much due to staff changes but more

so that many of the kinks have been worked out. It has been a headache at times but also great and it hasn't affected my learning, Thankfully. Congras on your acceptance and scholarship! You will soon find out that nursing school can make you poor!

I am currently a PSU Second Degree Nursing Student at Penn State Harrisburg. If anyone would like any further information from someone who has been through it, you are more than welcome to contact me and I can answer any questions you have! Just post a comment or reply and I will get back to you as soon as I can!

Hey there,

I am currently taking prereqs at CCP and thinking of applying to PSU Harrisburg for their Second Degree Nursing program. How was the process for you? How were your grades? Do you know what the total tuition cost will be for the program? Any info you can provide is always helpful :-) Thank you!

I was just accepted into the Penn State Harrisburg accelerated nursing program and I would love to have as much information as possible. If you are able to give me any on class sizes, NCLEX pass rate, and how you liked the program I would really appreciate it!
