I live in MA where there are few pediatric LTC facilities. I have an interview for one next week and it is at a facility that accepts the most medically complex pediatric patients, including patients on ventilators. I was just wondering if anyone can tell me what to expect, and if this is a good place for a new graduate to start out. I know I could learn a lot but I don't want to step in over my head and put my license at risk. Is the support generally good in pediatric LTC? Are there any specific questions I should ask? Thanks so much.

I think it all depends on the facility. I am sure they will give you in depth training and I think they have a pretty good nurse to patient ratio. At least the one where I live does. Would LOVE to work there, buts its about an hour drive from my house and with these gas prices there is no way! Let me know how it turns out!
