How can a RPT qualify for you to challenge the PCT? Those are two totally different things. That's like asking the RN to challenge the RT exam. Although the RPT is part of the PCT course.
that was my point, isnt that the additional class needed to become a PCA once your already a CNA which i already posess so i would rather not redo what i dont need to. but if there is something more than of course i need to sit and take the class(s) but thats why I asked those of you in the know to gain... insight

There's more to being a PCT than phlebotomy + CNA. You should probably look into your state's requirements for challenging, but I'm guessing no. You'll probably need to take a class. But at least the phlebotomy unit will be a breeze for you! :) Good luck!
You also need to know EKG from my understanding. I'm not a PCT so I don't know. But I do know that it's a different job that goes beyond the scope of a CNA. I would assume you can't challenge the exam, because one of the requirements for the PCT is the CNA. But, if you find out you can for your state please do share that information.
thank you very much.... i have an appointment this week so i will ask them the riggors of it.
yeah i figured about the EKG which i have and did a refresher as a cardio-vass tech. but yeah i will definatly come back and post what i find out and im in NYC..
