Patient Education Help

So I have a patient education project due thursday and I am almost finished but I am slightly confused.

We have to have at least 6 evidence based teaching points with rationales present with 2 examples.

My topic is community acquired pneumonia. I know that I could teach about incentive spirometer, deep breathing, smoking cessation if the patient smokes, getting a vaccination, discussing increased activity but those are all examples. What are teaching points?

Any ideas? Thanks!

My interpretation is:

The teaching points could be referring to categories of teaching areas.

Examples:

Exercise

Disease process

Procedures

Equipment

Medications

Allergies

Activity limitations

Preoperative

Post operative

Safety

Pain management

Risk factors

Etc.....
