Pathophysiology

Published

I'm in my 2nd semester of nursing school and we are just getting ready to start clinicals. On some of my prep for clinical it asks for "pathophysiology related to client problem" (in this case hypertension). This is the first one we've done and we haven't gone over it yet so I'm a little confused. What exactly are they asking for? I've been trying to read about it but I'm just not getting it.

Have you taken your patho class yet? Pathophysiology essentially means disordered physiology/what is happening in the body abnormally and how it negatively impacts the person. You can look in your textbook for info on the disease process(es) -- in this case hypertension -- or else hit the school library, or Google it if you still have questions. Just make sure to use reputable websites if you look online.
