Passed on my first try -- 108 Questions

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I took the NCLEX-PN in California on March 25th 2015 and received 108 questions. Many of which were SATA questions, 2 drag and drops, 1 ped med math, and a majority of the rest being triage and Nurse on Nurse education and management.

It took me around 1.5 hours to get it done, which had me panicked at first. I tend to be a fast test-taker, but I had actually tried to slow down and make sure. I reviewed my answers several times before submitting and still completed quickly.

I tried the PVT 2 hours after the test, 6 hours, 12, 24, 36, and then once more 3 weeks later just to make sure. Each time, I got the good popup (which DID include going to the CC page and submitting a credit card. Yes, it's a gamble but I also used a maxed out card just in case so that it would decline it if it did fail)

I received my letter today, April 27th; A month and 2 days (due to the weekend) after my exam date, stating that I had passed. :)

To review: I literally only used NCLEX Mastery (RN version) and practiced every-day (even at the gym!!) around 80-120 questions at random on all subjects. I do have the Saunders PN review book and tried to use it + their online application but it was poorly coded, errored out a lot and didn't track my progress the way I wanted it to so I nixed it.

I did NOT review the night before the test. Long term memory will never process if you cram it the night before.

Good luck to all of you out there. I know you can do it! :)

Nice to hear! Congrads
