office manager stopped by my office today to let me know that i have a meeting next tuesday with the mid level who also works for my md, it is a lunch meeting and she is pretty much my supervising md's go to person.she kind of took me under her wing when I started, I am wondering if i should be nervous i would think that if there was a practice issue or concerns I would hear from my supervising md or administration, or maybe she just wants to see how things are going and get back with my supervising md ( i am at a seperate site and don't see her often) she is super busy so i am wondering should i be paranoid or does she just want to meet with me to see how things are going and to see if i have any concerns no concerns have been expressed except for one thing along time ago

Paranoid, unless you've noticed you aren't doing well and feel like you should be worried?

Either way, just relax. You can't do anything about it and it's most likely nothing. Don't sweat the small stuff and it's all small stuff.

Probably just wants to meet with you but like most people you are wondering what can this be about that is bad, bad, bad.

i am thinking that it just to see how it is going suggestions, etc I had one pt grandmother complain she stated " the np told my grandaughter to go to a fat farm" the child was 10 was a 163 pouns i recommended a wt lost program to the mom who relyayed to dad who told grandma you know what happens then so i am trying not to worry too much, i mean usually if they want to get rid of you they call you in to the office and can you there this is a scheduled lunch a week away

I'm sure it's just to touch base and see how things are going. But I'm the "nervous" type, too....so I understand how you feel.

I would most definitely think it's just to talk then

ok so i talked with the person who i was going to meet with and here is the deal, when I was hired 5 months ago i spent 8 days with my supervising md and then was basically sent to my own office in the next town, with a DO and a OB/GYN one month later my md had a family emergency and was gone for a month, in retrospect they feel that the way my orientation was handled was not fair to me, some of the higher ups felt that because i had passed boards that i should only need 8 days with my md, on my pt satisfaction surveys the one thing that was brought up was i did not seem really confident, so now they are having me do 2 days a week in my supervising md's office which is fine, to help with my confidence, i thought i came across as confident to the parents and patients. I told them today I was quite surprised that i did not have a longer orientation and felt that they had moved to fast, i wish i had said something at the time. A second reason they are doing this is because my practice is very slow and my md's practice is super busy and the thought is that if they have me over there it will increase my marketability and exposure. I work for a federally funded rural health clinic, and they have to justify having me and in order to do that i need to see more patients. Of note the only marketing that they did was one add in the local paper that was it. They told me they do not have the money to advertise more so my nurse and I are putting up flyers and my business card up in the pharmacys, etc to give me more exposure. I was told in no uncertain terms that my job is not in jeopardy basically they feel that it was handled badly from the start.
