Hello, I have been an EMT for six years now, and am currently in my last year of nursing school. Being an EMT is very rewarding, but can also be very stressful. If it is something you would really like to do, contact your local fire department or ambulance corps, and see about doing a ride-along and observe for the day. Depending on where you live, fire departments will pay your EMT training (they do here in MD) or local community colleges offer EMT class as a credit course. Good luck to you!!

If you really want to fly, then you need to be an RN, EMT-P and then only after quite a few years of experience will someone look at you.
Remember that the helicopter crews have a hard time getting life insurance - they crash too often!
