Packet approved!

Hello all haven't been around to much lately. Just got a call from my recruiter with a congratulations and that my packet had been approved. I am really looking forward to the air force life the chance to learn and advance my education. Looks like they want to send me to Lackland Air force base. I heard that it's a good base, but I was kinda hoping for an overseas assignment. At least in San Antonio I can work on the side and make some extra cash. So what is the word on deployments nowadays, should I expect to be deployed while I am there. As as far as assignments, should I expect another assignment inside of four years. I am a single guy so deployments don't bother me and I like travel. . .

congrats to you!!!!! woo hoo!!!:yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah:

Congrats! I'm a new AF nurse and I love it! I really, really wanted Lackland but was sent to Virginia instead. Lackland will be a great place for you to learn and get good experience. The hospital is fantastic (I did clinical rotations there). I'm not experienced with deployments yet, but I hear lots of nurses are deployed from Lackland. It will depend on your AEF--it's complicated and you'll learn more about it later but essentially it's your "group" that you are assigned to.

When are you off to COT? Let me know if you have any questions about it as I was just there in May.

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:yeah:

Well to answer your question Greek, my recruiter said that I was slotted for October, but I kinda told him that was too soon. I am a Travel Nurse and I just signed another contract because I hadn't heard anything from the boards. So it looks like I will be going to the COT in January date.
