Hi there! My husband and I currently are stationed in Germany. I have been thinking of getting my masters and have been looking at different schools that offer online programs. So far I've looked at Georgetown, Drexel, and University of Southern Indiana. The first two schools are great except the fact that in order to do clinicals, i would most likely have to fly there every quarter. The last leaves clinicals/practicum to the student to arrange. Luckily, we are near a US military hospital. Has anyone had to do clinicals through a military hospital? What's the process? Any other suggestions for ACNP online programs at other schools that don't require in classroom time? TIA

I go to Drexel. From what I understand the times you have to be on campus isn't clinicals. I was told to expected to do about 16 hours of clinicals per week for several weeks at a time. So I don't know that you would be able to come back here for clinicals without staying here. There are times you have to be on campus as well and these are not clinicals.

I sent the hospital commander at Okinawa Naval Hospital a letter and he "ordered" a NP to be my preceptor. However, the NP left the day before I arrived and I was given a psychiatrist preceptor. Check out the history of the commander and tailor your letter...he had lived in TN and I had a mother-inlaw there and we both lived in Hawaii.
