I was just curious, who can help me with this questions:
1. which brach of the military you have a greater chance to be an OR Nurse?
2. How do the military choose their nurses to attend OR School?
3. Which brach has the best training in that specialty?
Thank you everybody , I would really apreciate some feedback. I`m just trying to find what`s better for me.

1. Probably equal in all branches
2. USAF is through AFIT/formal training slots; The USAF sends nurses to Lackland AFB for several months for formal training as an OR nurse.
3. Probably equal
1. & 3. are very subjective. Anyone that would give their opinion on either one or three would be giving a very one sided opinion unless they had worked in that same speciality in more than one branch.....Those select individuals that have worked as an OR nurse in more than one service are few and far between.
As always look at all the different branches and then make a decision. OR nursing is going to be pretty much the same in all the branches.
Most often things to consider when picking a service branch:
1. Quality of Life
2. Professional issues: education, promotion timelines etc.
3. Length of deployments/How often will you be deployed?
4. Different job types that are open to you as a nurse
5. Duty locations; you will have limited duty stations as an OR nurse
6. Last but not least: How does each service seem to fit your personality?
Good Luck! Hope this helps some.
