I was accepted into Good Samaritan College of Nursing in Cincinnati. I am very excited and cant wait to start this coming Aug.

I am currently living in michigan and everything up here is a 2 to 5 year wait to get into any program here. At church tonight I ws told that Good Samaritan was a crappy school and was not accreditated and that I would not be able to find a job when I graduated. Also was told that being on a waitlist for 2 or more years was better because that ment the school was a good school. And obviosly since I got accepted into Good Samaritan and only had to wait 9 months to get in its a bad school.

Kind of hurt right now. Was just wondering what people thought about this?

I have looked on the OHIO Board of Nursinf and Good Samaritan has full accreditation from them. Tried telling this person that and they wouldnt listen.

Good Samaritan is a fine school and has full approval from the Ohio Board of Nursing and is accredited by the National League for Nursing. The NCLEX pass rate for the first quarter of 2012 was 92.68%, which is well above the national average. Waitlists at nursing schools are often due to the availability of nursing faculty or clinical sites and have nothing to do with quality.

Sounds like that person at church doesn't know what he/she is talking about and is engaging in hearsay or maybe has a grudge against the school for some reason.

You might want to search through the allnurses.com website for more posts about Good Samaritan.

Ummmm, yeah....as a graduate of Good Sam, I will put my education up against ANY school in the area. It has a great reputation and provides a quality experience. High standards for entrance into the school = not a lot of people will be accepted, therefore a shorter wait list. Church lady can go jump........LOL
