Does anyone know of any Online RN-BSN porgrams the do not require team projects and writing a lot of papers? Right now I am enrolled in the University of Phoenix Online RN-BSN program and it is somewhat overwhelming. You have papers due, slide presentations due, you have to post 2 substantial post on each of the 4 days each post must be at least 100 words. Also, there are the discussion questions which must be between 300-500 words. In additon there are attendance requirements and participation requirements. All of this in 5 weeks!

One of my team leaders kept ending up in slacker groups with Phoenix, and she got tired of carrying the group. She ended up enrolling with Excelsior's RN-BSN and loves it. No group projects. She probably has to write papers, though. :)

That's the whole thing about online education. If you are not going to classes, listening to lectures, participating in classroom activities and discussions, etc. ... then what are the other teaching methods available?
There aren't that many choices. So, online education tends to emphasize online discussions, papers, tests, projects, etc. It's just the nature of the beast.
However, by choosing a program in which the courses are over a full semester rather than compressed into 5-week modules, you might not be overwhelmed. There are lots of schools that offer online BSN's on a regular semester schedule.
