Online Bsn Programs

I was wondering if anyone knows anything about college accreditation for online RN-BSN Programs. There are so many online programs and I always wonder if they are legit. What is one way to check if these rn-bsn programs are accredited so that I can get my masters at any school without having any problems. Thanks

I would recommend getting your degree from a college that also has an accredited brick-and-mortar BSN program as well as an online program. Many well-established, well-respected schools are now beginning to offer online versions of their BSN completion programs. That would eliminate the concern you are now having -- which is a legitimate one.

It might be a little less convenient, or more expensive, etc. to go to such a school, but it would probably be worth it in the long run to have your credentials from a well-known and well-respected school.

Most of the them are probably "legit". When you read about the accreditation look for NLN. The grad school here at USF only takes applicants from NLN approved programs, of which there are many. However, not all grad schools have this requirement.

I am going to Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences online which has their NLN accreditatation, they also have a brick and mortar school. The local college here Saint Petersburg College has both live and online versions of their RN to BSN program and are NLN approved.

Good luck!
