OHSU CRNA program for 2017

I am currently applying for OHSU's CRNA program. I am not finding a ton of info about this program. The clinical sites are spread out and the program is front loaded (which I think I like) Anyone else out there applying or are in the program or recent graduates that can given some insight?

Thanks!

The farthest you travel is to Boise for 6 to 12 weeks. The rest of the time is spent between there and Portland and I think maybe UW in Seattle...not sure about that.

Very competitive program with pretty "meaty" clinical rotations, IMO. It is front loaded as are most programs these days.

Offlabel,

Do you have any insight on what they are looking for as far as students go? I am trying to figure out how to tailor my background to who they want in their program. Thanks!

From what I've seen of their recent graduates (I have no professional or material interests in OHSU's program, BTW) they come with a greater than average professional backround in terms of clinical experience. Multiple and varied units for many years. Some have earned degrees in addition to a BSN, but obviously not all.

Meaningful and regular "extracurricular" work, ie, overseas missions of one kind or another seems to be a common theme as well, but not a rule.

Excellent academic ability is, of course, a given. They tend to stay in this part of the country (upper left hand corner), so I have had some not infrequent contact with the graduates.

Call/visit/write the admissions folks and ask...each class is different in any program. Better yet, see if you can get a student there or a recent graduate to PM you from one of the many on line CRNA forums. You might get lucky.

There may be a lot of horse power in one class and less in another. What I see is certainly not the whole story.

Have you been able to find anymore info on OHSU? I am also interested in applying here, and like you I have searched through a few different sites and haven't found much info out there. If anyone has interviewed or attended OHSU, can you post or message me? I already emailed the school with questions, but I have a ton of questions that I would like to have answered from an applicant or student perspective. Thanks
