NYU requires completion of non-nursing courses prior to clinical. Is it possible to begin the clinical classes in the spring? It appears that I have one extra semester of study before entry into the program.
In regard to employment, is it possible, or are the demands of full-time study too much to juggle?
Thanks!

Yes, NYU accepts students for the Spring semester, which begins after MLK day. I think the deadline is November 1st or so. Your first clinical course will be Fundamentals of Nursing.
This is an intensive program, and unless you have an extremely flexible part time job, I think employment would be difficult.
Good luck!
Thank you!
I plan to apply for Fall 2009, but I wasn't sure if I could begin my clinical classes in the spring. Given my present schedule I may not be short after all. In regard to work, I'm only planning to do that on the weekend if possible. I'll have my CNA, ECG, and Phlebotomy certifications by then.
Sorry, I misunderstood your question. I'm pretty sure you have to be a fulltime student at NYU to take a clinical as you first have to be accepted into the undergraduate division and have all your pre-reqs tranferred. You should call the College of Nursing to make sure.
I think we're getting our wires crossed. *s*
I'm applying as a full-time undergraduate student for Fall 2009. I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to begin my clinical classes at that time if the non-nursing courses had not been completed. NYU doesn't require any prerequisites for their BSN program. However, all science and liberal arts courses must be completed before you begin your clinical study. Since it appeared I would be finishing up during the fall, my question was whether it is possible to start them in the spring. Based you on your reply you've answered it. Thanks.
