NYU BSN SPRING 2011

Hello everyone! I'm new to this forum. I'm hoping to connect with some fellow new nyu bsn students starting this month (spring 2011). I'm in shock that we're starting next week! I'm a second degree 'career changer', 29, admitted as a 'traditional' transfer taking 5 classes this spring, then starting on the accelerated track in the fall.

Who else is here with me?! Also - i'm under the impression that i'm going to an orientation this coming thursday, anyone else? Anyone buy the textbooks yet? Fill me in - here we go ;)

    I'm in here with you!! I'm also a second career student admitted as an internal transfer from NYU and finishing up my pre-reqs before I start my clinical part. I'm also taking 5 classes this semester and I hope I can manage it! I'm married with two small children and I know it's going to be a challenge, but I took 4 classes last semester and I did great.

    I will be continuing on the traditional BSN track because I dropped out of college when I was younger and need to fulfill all the BSN requirements.

    Which classes are you taking this semester? And yes we will all meet on Thursday at the orientation!

    Looking forward to hopefully meeting you!

    Hi Kika! Its great to hear you're here, too! Yes, 5 courses - i'm taking Dev Psych, Chem, Nutrition/Health, Statistics & Microbio.... I wasn't a science major before, so these classes are all pretty new to me. What classes have you been taking?

    Also - do you have any info about the orientation? All i know is that it is on Thurs 9-5.. but no location, etc.. ha. Good to hear from you!

    So good to hear from you! I'm taking Chem, Dev. Psych, Stat, Micro and Text & Ideas so I'm guessing I will be seeing you in a lot of my classes...yayyy!!

    Then over the summer I'm taking A&P and Nutrition & Health so that I can start my clinicals in the Fall just like you! We're probably going to see each other over the clinicals as well!

    I have no idea where the Orientation is taking place and I guess I'm gonna wait until tomorrow to see if we get any emails about the location. If not I will email them!

    Also I was looking at the syllabus for the classes that have already been posted on Blackboard....and I think I want to cry!! Did you see the Dev Psych outline?

    I'm very committed and so far I took about 10 classes and did great in all of them but in all honesty this semester scares me a little! Do you work or have family as well?

    I'm glad there is someone on this board to talk to!!
