Nuva Ring

I love it. It is mindless...every 3 weeks I put a new one in so I don't have a period. I have a hard time with some pills and such because of hormonal migraines and estrogen withdrawal. I have had no issue with this at all. I tell everyone about it...I think it is fabulous.

I hated it! I am not sure what made me react differently to this method than the pill but it was not pleasant. I did not want anyone to touch me, husband or kids. No hugs, nothing! I was actually using it the way that Seasonale is prescribed so that I would only have 4 periods a year. After 5 weeks, my husband said, "will you PLEASE take that thing out!"

I have heard that other women really liked it, but not me.

I have used the nuvaring for over a year and i am very happy with it. I chose this method due to the higher effectiveness and lower incidence of side effects. Early on i did experience some headaches the day that I inserted the ring, but they were easily treated with tylenol or ibuprofen. Only worrying about this once a month is very nice!

I have also used it for other a year and I really like it. I could never remember to take the pill at the same time every day so this is much better for me. I can't feel it at all (and neither can my husband).

Is weight gain a side effect of the nuva ring? I know that some bcp can cause you to gain weight and I was wondering if this is the same with the nuva ring.. thanks
