I simply love reading the nursing stories on here. I really think it is helpful to prepare me for nursing. I start the program next fall, in reading the stories on here, I am not only learning some of the medical terms, but also how to tactfully handle doctors, patients and their families and what really goes on in the units. I am so happy that I found this site and have even had the honor of corresponding with some of the nurses on here. From what I have seen, ya'll give great advice to help out students and pre-nursing students, and are generally over all friendly.
I guess the purpose of this post is to say thank you. All of you. For being so willing to tell your stories, give your advice and offer the comforts to each other that many on the outside will never understand. I hope that through my schooling and career, I will be as surrounded by wonderful people as the people here are.

Just thought I'd respond to you since you used the word ya"ll. I'm a Southern Belle at heart. I see you're from Michigan. Not too many ya"ll users up there. I'm new to this chat room and forum thing. I like to read what others post also. Good to know it's going well for you. I just finished my first semester of nursing school. All A's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, 2 A's, I only had 2 classes, but all A's sounds better!! My advice... take every class you can BEFORE you get in, that way you only have nursing classes left. That's what I did. So far so good. Later...
I lived in Georgia for about 5 years and my husband spent around 10 years there, so ya'll is just part of our vocabulary! LOL
Actually, I have taken all of my pre reqs, in fact, while waiting to start my program, I decided to take the CNA course this up coming semester.
Congrats on your A's! Good for you! I hope I do as well!
