Nursing shoes

Hi everyone,

I am a new BSN grad and have recently started orientation. I am noticing that my back and my feet are killing me at the end of the day. Im currently wearing Nike Shox, but wondered if anyone had suggestions on what kind of shoes to wear? :) Plus, it gives me a good excuse to go out and buy some new shoes!! Thanks in advance =)

Everyone has an opinion on this one but to really know what is best for your feet, you just have to try them out. I suggest going to some local shoe stores after you get off work (or at least at the end of a long day) and trying on different shoes to see what you like. If you think a pair feels good, wear them around the store for at least ten minutes or so to make sure they feel good on your feet. It's unlikely you'll notice any difference with your back without wearing them for a few hours but you can at least make sure you have found shoes that are comfortable on your feet when they are at their worst. I'd also suggest shopping somewhere with a great return policy!

Personally, I love my MBTs and wouldn't trade them for anything. My lower back ached for years and now it's not an issue at all. My feet still get tired after my twelve hour shift but they don't hurt like they did with other shoes. When I get up in the evenings is when I notice the most difference, before MBTs I could barely walk some days because my feet were so sore, now that's not an issue at all. A coworker tried Sketchers (not quite the same but very similar) and actually developed back and knee pain that she hadn't had before.

I second what Pers said. You really need to try out the shoes to see if your feet like them. I can recommend another brand for you to try - Alegria Shoes. They have different styles - clogs, clogs with a strap, close toe shoe depends on the dress code of your work.

I love my Alegria Clogs. They look cute and very comfortable because of its special foot bed with great arch support. It's thick outsole platform provides great stability. Lots of toe room which I also like. Like I said earlier, you really need to try them on to see how you like them. They also offer a professional line with slip resistant outsole and stain resistant upper finish if that s important to you. You can use their store locator to find a store near by you if you would like to try them on.

Hope you find your perfect shoes soon!

The sketcher shape ups are very comfortable and supportive
